DJI Osmo 360

A 1-inch sensor is unusually large for a 360 camera, where most rivals sit closer to 1/1.8 inch. That extra area feeds an 8K maximum resolution and 120 MP stills, so a 360 frame can be cropped into a normal-looking flat clip without falling apart on a phone screen.

The trade-off is that the low-light advantage is real but not unlimited: 360 capture splits the sensor across two lenses, and the aperture is a relatively dim 1.9 f. Buy it if you plan to reframe in post; skip it if you wanted a dedicated wide-angle action cam.

8K is the headline, but 120 fps only arrives at 4K. The max bitrate is 170 Mbps in HEVC, and color is 10-bit with a log profile, which is what actually gives you room to grade in an editor. Pre-recording and both time-lapse and hyperlapse modes are on board for setting up a shot in advance.

The clearest omission is photo flexibility: there is no RAW output, so any exposure recovery has to come out of the JPEG. Digital zoom tops out at 1x, meaning reframing is a post-production job, not something the camera does for you.

There is one screen, a 2-inch rear touchscreen rated at 800 nits, and no front display. That is enough to check framing and settings outdoors, but a 360 camera does not really need a viewfinder, and skipping the front panel is part of how it stays at 183 g.

Stabilization is in-camera with horizon lock, so footage stays level even through rolls and turns. The body is 36.3 mm wide, 81 mm tall and 61 mm deep, waterproof to 10 m without any housing, and rated from -20 °C to 45 °C.

The 1,950 mAh battery is removable and rated for up to 190 minutes of recording, though DJI does not publish a figure specifically at 4K, so treat the number as best-case rather than a shooting plan.

Storage is the strong point: 105 GB is built in and a card slot takes up to 1,024 GB. Wi-Fi 6 handles transfers and 1080p live streaming. Audio relies on the built-in microphone only, so anyone needing a lapel or shotgun input will be working around the camera.
