Both cameras reach 8K and 4K at 120 fps, so resolution alone will not separate them. The DJI Osmo Action 6 shoots 10-bit color in its log and night modes, which gives editors more room to push color before banding appears. The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 records 8-bit only.

The Insta360 writes at a higher maximum bitrate, 180 Mbps against 120 Mbps, so its 8K files hold more detail in busy scenes. Its HDR mode is also confirmed, while DJI does not publish an HDR figure. For pure image quality, the DJI's sensor and lens matter more in low light.

The DJI's 0.91-inch sensor is larger than the Insta360's 0.77-inch, and its f/2 aperture lets in more light than the Insta360's f/2.6. In dim rooms, evenings, or underwater, that combination means cleaner footage without leaning on noise reduction.

The Insta360 covers a slightly wider 157° field of view against DJI's 155°, a difference most shooters will not notice. If you shoot indoors or after dark, the DJI is the better tool.
